Welcome back all LundaEkonomer, a new school year has begun and amidst the flurry of new friendships and memories, there’s another exciting development – a brand new board has taken over the reins at Skånis! The board consists of ten positions that were elected late spring, big congratulations! Now that they have fully embraced their new roles, we are all eager to get to know them better! Meet the new board:

Tova Mark- President

What are your main responsibilities?

– I will be responsible for keeping an overall birds-eye’s-view of our lovely board and organization as a whole, making sure that everyone is doing great. I  will spend a lot of time being a ”bollplank”!

What made you apply for your position? 

– Because it gives me the opportunity to grow and learn more about who I am as a person and a leader. And, I get to do it with the most brilliant people!

What would you recommend for someone that is interested in becoming an active member?

– Do what YOU want, and never ever hesitate to apply for a position just because you are unsure if you are qualified enough!

Where are you from?

– Gothenburg (a bit north, if I call myself a Göteborgare people from inside of town gets upset)

What do you study?

– Ekon. Kand and a bachelor in Business law

If you could describe yourself with three words, which would it be?

– Hmmm, I think it would be talkative, open minded and positive. Perhaps not all the time, but I try my best hehe

What is your best memory within the union?

– Uppsala with the Collegium last fall was a big big success.

What are your best study-tips?

– A good playlist on Spotify that you play every time you want to lock in really does the trick!

What is your best “matlåde- recept”?

– Couscoussallad of any kind. Red onions, tomatoes, grilled paprika, feta cheese, chickpeas, add anything really. A dijon dressing to that and you are all set!

What’s your dream job?

– I don’t really have anything specific in mind, but it has to be a place where I get to interact with a lot of people. If I would have gone for another education though it would definitely have been medicine!

Who is your role model?

– I have several but both my younger and older brother are two incredible sources of inspiration.

Sebastian Krook- Vice president

What are your main responsibilities?

– Vice President. I’m our head of education, making sure your education stays up to quality, at LUSEM and at LU. 

What made you apply for your position? 

– Educational Surveillance allows me to make a difference for my fellow LundaEkonomer! Doing it full time has been a dream.

Where are you from?

–  Ljunghusen, a small village in southern Skåne. 

What do you study?

– A Master’s in Management.

Which is your favorite nation, and why?

– As a board member I love all nations equally, but I’m prone to be found in the coffee bar on Agardhsgatan 1. 

What is your best falafel/kebab-place in Lund?

Vänthallen. Best bang for the buck.

What is your best “matlåde- recept”?

– A simple Ratatouille with Orzo.

What’s your dream job?

– Writer & Researcher for the Economist, a magazine.

Who is your role model?

– My Grandfathers! 

Do you have a “smultronställe” in Lund or around Lund?

– The lunch restaurant Buljong. Mårten, the owner, is the nicest guy. And the soups are just pure bliss.

Felicia Leandersson- Communications Manager

What are your main responsibilities?

– I will be responsible for all the marketing and communications from our union as well as represent us in forums such as Studentlund. Other than that I will be the contact person for – Marketing Group, Novice Committee, LE Band and Nådiga Lundtan. 

What made you apply for your position? 

– First of all I love LundaEkonomerna and therefore it was an obvious choice to apply for the board. When I was the Editor-in-Chief for Lundtan I had the Communications Manager as my contact person and saw all the work she did which seemed very fun and something I wanted to work with.

What would you recommend for someone that is interested in becoming an active member?

– The best way to get to know new people in Lund is definitely by being active. You learn so much and meet a lot of friends!

Where are you from?

– Compared to Adam and Tova I am a real göteborgare!

What do you study?

– I am building my own Bachelor in Business Law. 

If you could describe yourself with three words, which would it be?

– I would say that I’m pretty stubborn, considerate and pedantic. Nothing makes me so calm as when I’m cleaning my apartment.

What is your best falafel/kebab-place in Lund?

– Sesam <3333 

What is your best memory within the union?

– It’s hard to just pick one. But something me and my committee had so much fun together at was the Active Members Day in spring 2023. 

What’s your dream job?

– My dream job is to be a Lawyer in the music industry. I have always been surrounded by music. It would be super cool and fun to work at a music label in Sweden or internationally. 

Who is your role model?

– My mom. She’s the coolest person I know, my best friend and my role model <3

Do you have a “smultronställe” in Lund or around Lund? 

– I would say Västra Hamnen in Malmö! Something I miss from Gothenburg is the closure to the ocean, and Västra Hamnen truly quells my homesickness.

Adam Ekwall- Corporate Relations Manager

What are your main responsibilities?

– My main responsibility is to maintain LundaEkonomernas relationship and cooperation with our partners. 

What made you apply for your position? 

– Having finished my tenure as project leader for the Corporate Relations Committee I felt that I still wanted to be a part of LundaEkonomerna.

What would you recommend for someone that is interested in becoming an active member?

– Since enthusiasm goes a long way within LE, I recommend applying to a few committees that genuinely interest you.

Where are you from?

– I’m from the south of Gothenburg.

What do you study?

 – The bachelor’s programme in Business Administration.

If you could describe yourself with three words, which would it be?

– Easygoing, sympathetic, positive.

What is your best falafel/kebab-place in Lund?

– Kebabvagnen at Mårtenstorget.

What is something that you cannot miss during your time in Lund?

– Valborg at all the different nations!

What is your best “matlåde- recept”?

– I always do Ragu and pasta, preferably in big quantities.

Do you have any hidden talents?

– I’m surprisingly good at croquet.

What’s your dream job?

– Movie director.

Who is your role model?

– My brother Jacob.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?

– Snus.

Ludvig Lindqvist- Treasurer

What are your main responsibilities?

– My position is as the Treasurer of Lundaekonomerna and my main responsibilities is everything regarding the union’s finances, for example, setting the budget for the union and all our committees as well as working towards our long term financial goals.

What made you apply for your position? 

– Being on the board has always seemed like so much fun and I love working with money so this was the obvious decision for me!

Where are you from?

– The beautiful city Stockholm ❤ 

What do you study?

– Bachelor in business administration fifth term.

If you could describe yourself with three words, which would it be?

– I am genius.

What is your best falafel/kebab-place in Lund?

– Sesam!!

What is your best memory within the union?

– My first AMD.

What is your best “matlåde- recept”?

– Minced meat, black beans, eggs, cream, pasta, it tastes better than it sounds like!

Where is your favorite place to study?

– Skånis! But I don’t recommend it because I never get anything done. 

Do you have any hidden talents?

– Wouldn’t be hidden if I told you. 😉

Do you have a guilty pleasure?

– I still watch the good old Scooby Doo episodes.

Lina Ingstrand – Internal Relations Manager

What are your main responsibilities?

– I’m responsible for our lovely collegium (all our Project Leaders) and to maintain good vibes within the union!! I also overlook our policies and am the contact person for LE Choir, Vieriet, Vinterbalen and Jubilee30!

What made you apply for your position? 

– I couldn’t see myself not continuing my journey within LE, so to apply for the board was a clear choice! There IRM was a dream opportunity for little me who loves being around people, always tries to be a source of happiness and safety, and loves seeing people grow and develop!

Where are you from?

– I’m born and raised in lovely Stockholm, but I feel like I’ve grown up almost as much in Gothenburg and Helsingborg where my family’s from.

What do you study?

– Started with free standing courses in economics, I’m now studying what I’ve always had my eyes on – a bachelor in political science!

If you could describe yourself with three words, which would it be?

– The other day I was described as “bubbly, oblivious and diligent” so I’ll copy paste that and let that speak for me 🫣

Which is your favorite nation, and why?

– I can’t say one favorite,  but some faves are dinners at Malmös, the club at GBGs, the penthouse at Lunds and the outdoor bar at Värmlands!

What is your best falafel/kebab-place in Lund?

– I must go classic and say Lundafalafel.

What is something that you cannot miss during your time in Lund?

– I must say Tandem! It’s such a cool and unique experience you really should try to be a part of!! And of course Vinterbalen is a must..!

What is your best memory within the union?

– I would say to perform with the choir on the past two Vinterbalen, the whole day of Astro 2024, and the board elections where our board was elected ❤️

What is your favorite song right now?

– We blasted Fallskärm by Timbuktu a lot on the tandem bus, which made me re-discover that old gem!

What’s your favorite movie?

– Call me by your name is my all time fave, makes me feel so at peace.

What’s your dream job?

– To work with international development or sustainability in some way or form, maybe in the UN, for the Swedish government or at some other cool international organization!

Who is your role model?

– Truthfully and proudly my family, friends and boyfriend are all my biggest role models, they inspire me every day!!

Do you have a “smultronställe” in Lund or around Lund? I just visited Skrylle for the first time which I must recommend if you are like me and sometimes miss the nature and forests.🌲

Sarah Owensby- International Affairs Manager

What are your main responsibilities?

– I specifically focus on the internationalization of the union and being the contact person for INTC and Masters Committee.

What made you apply for your position?

– The union seemed the best way for me to help make internationals at LUSEM feel more welcome. As an international myself, I saw first hand the struggles involved with becoming engaged with student life as a non-Swedish person.

What would you recommend for someone that is interested in becoming an active member?

– There are so many committees in LE, there is something that suits your interests. As an international student specifically, I was nervous that I wouldn’t find a place in LE or be fully accepted by a committee, but that was simply not the case. LE is for everyone who has a passion for making our education and student life in Lund better!

Where are you from?

– I was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. My mom is Indonesian and my dad is American, so I’ve been international since day one!

If you could describe yourself with three words, which would it be?

– Passionate, optimistic, and outgoing!

What do you study?

– I study the Bachelors in International Business.

Which is your favorite nation, and why?

– I’m a member of Västgota Nation and like it a lot! Also a big fan of Helsingkrona.

What is your best falafel/kebab-place in Lund?

– Hmmm. Maybe Sesam?

Do you have any hidden talents?

– Maybe not a secret given I’m in the LE Choir, but I love to sing and write songs!

Do you have a guilty pleasure?

– I’m severely addicted to Tetris.

Do you have a “smultronställe” in Lund or around Lund?

– Lund Art & Vintage is my favorite place to shop for formal dresses and more! Shoutout to Kristy and Anne for always making shopping there so fun!

Haytam Cherkaoui  – Corporate Sales Manager

What are your main responsibilities?

– My main responsibilities will be to handle all sales related matters for and within the union as well as educating our active members within sales and monitoring our CSM system.

What made you apply for your position?

– First of all, my love for the union. Secondly, I saw the opportunities and huge impact that the corporate sales manager created for the students of LUSEM and was highly motivated to be a part of it.

Where are you from?

– Helsingborg, not too far from Lund!

What do you study?

– BSc in information systems

If you could describe yourself with three words, which would it be?

– Enthusiastic, social and happy!

Which is your favorite nation, and why?

– Helsingkrona because HELSINGBORG!!!!!!!!

What is your best falafel/kebab-place in Lund?

– Sesam after GBGs hits everytime.

What is something that you cannot miss during your time in Lund?

– Free coffee at skånis!!!!!

What is your best memory within the union?

– The day I got elected as a board member!

Do you have any hidden talents?

– I am genetically unable to get a brain freeze. I can chug an entire slushy without consequence.

What’s your dream job?

– It changes from day to day. Right now it’s working within the yachting industry. Tomorrow it could be something else.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?

– I love to play an old game from 1997 called Tibia.

Edvin Henriksson- Social Affairs Manager

What are your main responsibilities?

– My role is the social affairs manager and my responsibility is to make sure our social life continues to thrive.

What made you apply for your position? 

– It seemed like a great way to grow as a person while having super fun simultaneously. 

Where are you from?

– Bjärred.

What do you study?

– Informatics.

If you could describe yourself with three words, which would it be?

– Social (of course), Sporty (S/o to LE Sports) and funny (sometimes).

What is your best falafel/kebab-place in Lund?

– Probably Lundafalafel.

What is something that you cannot miss during your time in Lund?

– Getting active in LundaEkonomerna.

What is your best memory within the union?

– I have sooo many, hard to choose one!

What is your favorite song right now?

– The unreleased banger ”nykter I kön” by system1.

What’s your dream job?

– Police officer actually.

Who is your role model?

– My dad.

– Vikhög.

Saga AtKisson- Educational Affairs Manager

What are your main responsibilities?

– I will together with Sebastian and the Education Committee work with educational surveillance in order to improve education for all students at LUSEM. I will also be responsible for handling reported student issues.

What made you apply for your position? 

– The possibility to help voice students’ opinions in order to improve our education felt like a very unique and fun opportunity that will allow me to learn and develop a lot!

What would you recommend for someone that is interested in becoming an active member?

– Check out all of the committees on the website! There is a huge variation and they are all so unique, and then apply for a position that you think would be fun and interests you the most! 

Where are you from?

– I am from Stockholm.

What do you study?

– BSc in Politices, majoring in economics.

Which is your favorite nation, and why?

– Hmm, very tricky! I usually think the best music is played at VG:s but the food at Göteborgs is delicious!

What is your best memory within the union?

– Hosting events with my current committee LE Sustainability.

What is your best “matlåde- recept”?

– Vegetarian bolognese.

What’s your dream job?

– Something sustainability related.

– Not really a secret place but sitting outside at Love Coffee at Clemenstorget during sunny days is so nice.
