After the covid-inflicted past two years, we can now look forward to some events that summer in Sweden has to offer. Ranging from Gothenburg to Gotland, there are many amazing places that not only arrange some of the largest events of the year but are also worth visiting just for the scenery alone. With the end of restrictions, many festivals are now set to take place, and is why I composed this list of some of the best festivals that you may want to attend.

Summerburst

Summerburst is an electronic music festival that this year takes place in Ullevi in Gothenburg between the 3rd and 4th of June. As they are this year housing some of the largest names within contemporary music, there among Alan Walker, David Guetta, Disclosure and Marshmello, one can expect that available tickets won’t remain for long. Thus, if you are already planning to be in Gothenburg in the beginning of June, it may be necessary to start looking at tickets now.

Sweden Rock

For all the people who enjoy rock music, Sweden Rock Festival is one of the most infamous rock festivals taking place in Sweden. There you can find a mix between classical rock, hard rock, metal and some blues. Taking place just a few days after Summerburst, Sweden Rock will take place in Sölvesborg between the 8th and 11th of June, having previously housed some of the largest names within rock music such as Guns N’ Roses, Ozzy Osbourne.

Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza, somewhat similar to that of Summerburst, is a three-day music festival that takes place in Stockholm between the 1st and 3rd of July. Hence, if you are from Stockholm and felt as though Gothenburg was a bit far to travel, Lollapalooza is a great substitute for Summerburst! If you love music, dance, and something that resembles Coachella, I highly suggest you start looking at tickets, as some days are already expected to be booked out soon. If you do decide to attend the three-day festival, you can expect to see artists like Post Malone, Veronica Maggio, Måneskin, Benjamin Ingrosso, Timbuktu. A festival you won’t forget any time soon!

Stockholmsveckan

Although “Stockholms week” is not considered a festival per se, it still attracts huge numbers of visitors to Gotland every year. More specifically, Kallis in Visby is where some of the largest events of the week take place. Starting off with an opening party on the 18th of July featuring Fisher and ending off with the white party on the 29th and the pink party on the 30th of July, Stockholmsveckan never ceases to amaze. Although tickets may still be available, housing will be the tricky part, as many book housing early on. Hence, it may be difficult to find somewhat affordable accommodation in Visby. Yet, if you do manage to get all that sorted, you are in for one of the best weeks ever!

Way Out West

This three-day festival will take place in Slottsskogen in Gothenburg between the 11th and 13th of August, what a great way to end the summer! Way Out West has in previous years housed some of the largest world artists such as Frank Ocean, Kanye West, Lana Del Rey, Prince, Alicia Keys and many others. Hence, I can assure you that the large venues and world-renowned artists will not disappoint.
