Last semester, the Vieri Project, with Project Leader Ellen Cardell in front, arranged one day and one night out of the ordinary. This semester they invited us for an amazing breakfast. And this semester they have much much more planned. I took a cup of coffee a sunny day at the back of Skånis with the superstar herself to try to get some gossip concerning this semester’s activities.

Hi Ellen! How are you doing?

I’m very good thank you! Sitting here in the sun and enjoying a cup of coffee, taking a break from studying for my upcoming exam – could not be better!

Good to hear! The Vieri Project is pretty new, can you tell us what you do?

Yes, this is actually the first whole year we exist. Our purpose is to thank all active members of LundaEkonomerna, meaning everyone who is part of a committee or project. Simply thanking them for all their time, love and engagement they have contributed with! Last semester we had an Active Members Day and Night and earlier this semester we arranged a breakfast for all active members and a kick-off for the Collegium!

Yes, those were super fun! But what is the Vieri Projects main focus at the moment?

At the moment all our focus lies on Active Members Day which is a day and night activity for all active members on April 27th. All registrations are in so now we can start prepare for real! We are so happy that all the spots are filled up!

What other things are you planning this semester?

Beyond Active Members Day, we help arranging the Astro Gala on the 19th of May. The Astro Gala is a ball for all the active members. We’re in a project group with Ida Thörnqvist, who is the Alumni Manager of LundaEkonomerna. It’s going to be so much fun!

I bet it is! Can you tell me where on earth are you getting all good ideas and inspiration from?!

Even though I often get a lot of cred, I can promise you that I would have been nothing without my committee members Karin, Linda and Samuel. They are golden!

“They are like incubators of ideas who just shoot plenty of ideas.”

I’m just the one who administrates and makes it all work. But we’ll get inspiration from various sources like the novice week and other events, TV programs, games you played as a kid etc. You have to believe that nothing is impossible!

What would you say is the best thing about being a member of the Vieri Project?

Since we’re pretty new, there are no traditions and no “how-to-do” so we can develop the project in the way we want to and that I believe is the best thing. And also, since we’re such a small committee we’re like a small family which I also love!

What has surprised you the most?

Hmm, probably how much work it takes to create a good event. Having no restrictions is both good and bad since there is nothing to lean back on. We, of course, want it to be awesome and make people impressed so we put more time than what we really need to.

This sounds great! How do I get the chance to participate in your events?

As long as you are an active member you are able to attend our events!

And can I become a part of the Vieri Project?

Of course! A new committee will be requited later this spring already. It demands no pre-requisites what so ever, you don’t even have to have been an active member! It’s just to apply once the application opens! We’re going to recruit one project leader and three committee members!

Wow, what a chance! Lastly: can you tell us a little secret?

Hmm… all I can say is that the sitting on the Active Members Day will not be inside.
