Hello and welcome back all LundaEkonomer! I hope you had an amazing summer and are ready for the upcoming semester filled with events, sittningar and other activities. Even if you want it or not, the future is around the corner and why not kick-off your future career with fun activities with companies and their representatives, and at the same time get to know new friends from LundaEkonomerna? If any of this sounds amusing to you, then you should definitely attend the Corporate Challenge (CC) that takes place on October 5th!

What is CC?

Corporate Challenge is an event where students have the opportunity to network with different companies, such as BDO, EY and AlfaSights, in a more relaxed way. It is a day filled with fun activities with other students from LUSEM and company representatives. The games include i.e logical thinking, physical activities and teamwork. It is reminiscent of the playday at Novice week, but this time with your future employer.

Be like a tree and “branch out”

Every year CC has a new theme and this year’s theme is Branching out. Before my interview with the Project Leaders of CC I was unsure of what they meant with this phrase, so I asked them a bit about the theme and why they chose it. “We believe that connecting with new people is the key when it comes to finding new possibilities in your future career.”, says Ludvig and Linnea who are the Project Leaders of this year’s CC. I can’t more than agree with them. It is also a perfect way to grow as a person by challenging yourself in different situations where your teamwork-skills will be tested. A perfect combination if you ask me!

The day will end with a sittning at T-Bar and the theme for that is “Soirée de la rose” (rose evening). This evening will be powerful and elegant, just like an evening in Paris. Oh là là!

Why should I apply?

If you ask the CC committee they´ll tell you that “CC is the best event of the year! It is an event with endless possibilities and the perfect way to connect with your dream company.”

Being a CC member gives you the same perks as the other committees, where you get to know an amazing group of people, and work together for a shared goal. But CC is so much more than your average committee, which is why I have also been in touch with two company representatives to hear what they have to say.

“At L’Oréal we want to hire the best and most diverse talents. That is why we really like the concept of Lund Corporate Challenge where you team up with students for a full day and compete in different challenges. Compared to a standard career fair, Corporate Challenge allows you to get to know the students more in depth and creates an environment where all kinds of personality types can be seen and heard.” – Ruben Grönevik, L´oréal.

“We want to meet all students in more relaxed circumstances and at the same time show Deloitte’s incredible problem solving skills! We are really looking forward to meeting your team!” – Dennis Leach, Deloitte

With that being said, CC is the perfect way to kick-start your career with your future employers and at the same time have a lot of fun. The application will close September 17th. Roses are red, violets are blue. I would apply for CC if I were you!
