Despite the pouring rain and the fact that the court was more muddy than grassy, a happy crowd gathered at Michael Hansen Kollegium. Some of them dressed in sports clothes, and some of them in grey-yellow t-shirts. It was time to play volleyball with EY. The event was organised by the social committee, who had done a great job pulling it all together.

Lundtan got the chance to speak to André Ljungström, student representative and auditor at EY Malmö.

“This is a much more relaxed way of getting to know each other”, says André on the matter of arranging events that may not seem so formal. “With small groups it is much easier to ask questions and mingle. This way of working is kind of how we define EY – intimate and with a lot of team work.”

André is actually a LUSEM alumni. He graduated from the bachelor program in business and economics with an audit orientation. Now he works at the accounting department at EY. “We have representatives playing from the different services at EY. For example, advisory, insourcing and audit.” In this way students can get to know the different services at an professional services firm.

Of course, we took the opportunity to ask André for his best tips if a student from LUSEM would like to get an employment at EY. “Apply via the general application at our website, but also make sure to come to our events. Be curious and talkative.”
