After 1463 days of covid and other obstacles TANDEM IS FINALLY BACK and better than ever. This year over a thousand people from Lund are participating. Rave, sittning, challenges and biking are a few of the things you cannot miss out on. Tandem has been a tradition for half a century and here is all you need to know about this year’s comeback.

Very shortly summarized, Tandem is an event where you and your team go by bus to Gothenburg together and then you take turns on the tandem bike back to Lund. This is over 30 hours of fun that you don’t want to miss out on. So it mustn’t come as a surprise that you have to earn your spot and you do that through a 24-hour-challenge at Skånis.

Here are all the important dates you need to remember. The release of anmodan to the challenge is not far away now and you’d better be on your toes because there are only 60 tickets available. Although, possession of one of these is no guarantee since there are more tickets than spots. What applies is: First come first serve – and then complete the challenge of course.

LundaEkonomerna has one bus with approximately 50 spots, but as mentioned before there are many more people joining Tandem. That is because all nations and faculties in Lund are allowed to join in with one bus each as well. Tandem is a competition where you can win prizes such as Strulpriset, Idealtiden or Bergshackan, but most importantly it’s about having as much fun as possible.

So, what does the day of the Tandem Race look like? Well, here’s a simplified itinerary.

The team takes turns and on average you spend 40 minutes on the bike. The rest of the time you’re spending with the team on the bus driving next to the bike.

Tandemgenralerna Erik Hansson
and Eryka Wojcieszek encourage
you to participate.
– It’s the perfect opportunity to
meet new people and have lots of fun. Before covid happened this has been one of the biggest traditions ever in Lund, they explain. If you are a Lundastudent you just must have done this at least once!

For more information about this memorable event you can check out The Social Committee’s Instagram, Tandem has its own story in their bio. There is also a Facebook event called “TANDEM 2023” you can join to keep updated.
