On the 11th of September, the brand new committee LE Sports hosted an event together with EY, the annual Volleyball with EY!

We had a chat with two of the sports coordinators of the committee, Eline and Henning, and discussed both the event and their new committee.

When asking them about how the event went, Henning quickly answered “We were a bit nervous, as it was our first event ever, but the social committee who has been in charge before had given us good guidelines on what to do.” The committee were in charge of doing everything from judging the games to barbecue, and they all got to test various skills during the day.

Further, Eline told us about the main purpose of Volleyball with EY is to create an opportunity for students to interact and network with company representatives in a more relaxed and low-key way. “In the break between the games they could go grab a hot dog together, and during the games they got to see each other’s team working skills.” EY also gave a presentation about themselves and what they do for all attending students, which gave the participants a better insight in the day-to-day business of an employee at EY.

When asking about their favourite part of the event, both Eline and Henning fully agreed on it being the team work and team spirit within the teams. “Especially the team that won had amazing team work and communication within the team, it was so fun to see” Henning describes. Some of the teams had applied together, but there were also single sign-ups which were put in teams by the LE Sports committee. Being able to sign up and attend the events hosted by the committee without knowing anyone is very important, and a big part of the purpose of the committee. Henning clearly describes that “Our events should be a place where you meet new friends, while staying active. Many people come by themselves, and then we hang out and get to know each other.”

The LE Sports committee, and its sports coordinators creates sporting events for all members of LundaEkonomerna. The idea behind it is to create events for all members, both more competitive events as well as more low-key sporting events just for the purpose of hanging out and being active together.

When asking for a final word to the people who might be interested in attending, but perhaps a little hesitant, Elines answer was clear

“GO, just go!”

The amazing LE Sports committee

If you have any questions about LE sports and their events, do not hesitate to contact the committee and do not hesitate to attend their events, you find them all on LundaEkonomerna – Social Facebook page. We’ll see you there at their next event!
