A new school year has started, and Lund is again full of excited students. Some are perhaps starting their first-ever university studies, some might have come back to the city after a well-deserved summer holiday. Everywhere you go, you see people meeting new friends, moving into new apartments, and of course; a new board has moved in to Skånis. Lundtan decided it was time to give all of you the opportunity to meet the new Board which will be responsible for our wonderful union during this upcoming year.

Hanna Elmteg, Corporate Relations Manager

What does your position in the board entail?

– The corporate relations manager makes sure that the members of LundaEkonomerna get the possibility to interact with employers in which they find an interest. With other words my role entails a lot of company contact, development of our activities collaborating with different companies and a big part of my role is to make sure the 90+ active members of the careerleg of LundaEkonomerna has the tools and motivation to fulfill their individual purpose. And, to be the dj of the eastern office!

What would you most like to accomplish during the upcoming year?

– A bigger collaboration between everyone that has company contact within our union. But also to focus more on the informatics student, that is a common goal for me and John (corporate sales manager).

If you would win 10 million dollars here and now, what would you do?

– I would build a bigger Skånis! I’m actually really compassionate about sustainability so would probably put some money into that! Maybe start my own company? A lot of idéas.

What is your secret superpower?

– I would say that I am really skilled at cooking!

What place in the world would you most like to visit?

– I have always dreamt about going to South America. But I am also a big fan of Sweden! I feel like in these days a lot of people forget to see the beauty that we got here. Me and my family went to Funäsdalen (Härjedalen) this summer for some hiking and it was AMAZING. Recommend everyone to pay the swedish alps a visit, especially in the summer!

What do you look forward to the most next year within LundaEkonomerna?

– Everything that entails this union, from hanging out with the board, meeting companies and create a really good year for our members together with all amazing people working for our union!

Joel Andersson Eneberg, Communications Manager

What does your position in the board entail?

– The Communications Manager has the utmost responsibility for the LundaEkonomerna Brand. Both in terms of our brand’s development and external marketing, but also when it comes to how we work internally with communication. I’m also responsible for all member questions and the administration that comes with that, as well as being a member of the board.

What would you most like to accomplish during the upcoming year?

– Briefly, I’d like to simplify the information we give to our members and explain in a clearer way all the benefits and fun that comes with becoming involved within LundaEkonomerna.

How good are you in Photoshop?

– Haha, I’m fairly good I’d say. “How to”-videos on youtube is my best friend! Hopefully, I’ll call myself a Adobe-pro when my year in the board is over.

What is your dream job?

– My dream job at the moment would be to be a manager for an awesome rock band (LE-band??).

What informal role will you have in the new board of LundaEkonomerna?

– Hopefully, I’ll be someone who creates a fun environment. I have an extensive library of meme-references, which surely will lead to a couple of laughs!

What is your hidden talent?

– I can play a couple of instruments pretty well and sing fairly good. I also have the unfortunate talent of hurting myself haha. I’ve gained a fine collection of scars and broken bones during my short lifetime.

What do you look forward to the most next year within LundaEkonomerna?

– I really look forward to for the first time practice and use what I’ve learned during my four years here in Lund. Instead of writing more essays and solving cases I’ll have the opportunity to create “real-life” value, which is so exciting!

Kasper Simonsson, Social Affairs Manager

What does your position in the board entail?

– Being part of the board first and foremost means that I am a contact person for a couple of committees, this includes supporting, discussing future development, and making sure that everything runs smoothly and according to the union’s values.

In specific, my position is to support active members who work with events, ensuring that LundaEkonomernas social environment is thriving and maintaining high standards. This means developing and overseeing our Events & Sittings, Sporting activities, Cooperations, and Alcohol culture. I will also be responsible for one event each semester: Gräddgasquen in Uppsala and LE<3UE in Lund.

What would you most like to accomplish during the upcoming year?

– There’s a lot! If I have to choose, I would say 3 goals: My priority is our member’s well-being, making sure that they feel supported. I also want to make sure that our newest project, LE-sports, becomes well established, runs smoothly and gives our members more active opportunities. Lastly, I want our event’s to keep developing, making sure that all our members feel that they got event-options that fit them.

Which “sittning” is your favorite?

– I guess I have to give a bit of a biased answer and say Visboken! However, I have been unfortunate to miss Pytten, twice. I have heard great things about Pytten, so ask me again in a year, and we’ll see if the answer’s the same!

If you would win 10 million dollars here and now, what would you do?

– I would add an extra floor to Skånis! Or I would probably use some of it to buy the house that I share with my 6 flatmate’s in Lund. The rest I would use for an apartment in either Stockholm or Copenhagen, after graduating.

Where have you travelled this summer, and why?

– I have not travelled anything this summer! I recently came back from an exchange semester in Hong Kong, so I spent most of my summer enjoying the lovely swedish summer!

What is your secret superpower?

– That I make sure that everyone within a group feel included & appreciated!

What do you look forward to the most next year within LundaEkonomerna?

– I would say 3 things: Getting to know and work with my new family in the Board, meeting all my classmates again after the exchange, and working with my contact-committees!

Molly Backman, Vice President

What does your position in the board entail?

– Other than being a board member, a contact person for some committees and representing our student union, the biggest responsibility for me is to work with the educational surveillance at LUSEM, but also at the whole university.

The internal educational surveillance entails working closely together with the Education Committee and the Educational Affairs Manager to ensure that all students at LUSEM get the most out of their education. This is done through our Educational Council where we discuss the bigger questions like well-being, pedagogy, internationalization, etc. In this forum we get input from department-level, faculty-level and university-level. The external educational surveillance entails working together with the other student unions in Lund in order to ensure that no decisions made on university-level will affect the students of the university negatively.

What would you most like to accomplish during the upcoming year?

– This year my focus will be on revising LundaEkonomerna’s Opinions Program since the current one is getting quite outdated. I will therefore work hard with the Educational Council in order to get a correct Opinions Program that is in line with our current thoughts and values. I would also like to start working more closely with #WeCare and make sure that our students and members know where to turn if they need support.

What subjects have you found the most fun during your studies?

– I really like organization and leadership as I find that this subject is easy to apply to real life situations. I know that when I remember things from a course, it has been a good course that fits my needs and interests.

What is your hidden talent?

– A little weird maybe, but I can sort of dislocate both my shoulders and my hip. I also like to sing and have done that since I was very young.

Where have you travelled this summer, and why?

– I actually haven’t travelled at all. I’ve been commuting between my summer house in Åhus and Lund the whole summer.

What is your dream job?

– I ask myself that same question often, and I really don’t know. Hope to get a more clear answer on that pretty soon.

What do you look forward to the most next year within LundaEkonomerna?

– I’m looking forward to getting to know all new members and to work with the new board! I’m also really excited for the 25 year Jubilee!

John Söderberg, Corporate Sales Manager

What does your position in the board entail?

– My position entails coordinating LundaEkonomernas sales activities and to find new companies for collaboration with the union and to maintain the relationship with the companies that we are currently collaborating with. Apart from that I will be doing general board-work and me and Hanna are in charge of the career-leg. I am also going to be the contact person for CRC, LEBT, LEST and Samday.

What would you most like to accomplish during the upcoming year?

– I would like to work a lot with having a more diverse mix of companies that we are collaborating with so that we can deliver career-events that are interesting for all of our members! I would also like to make the collaboration between committees and projects in the career-leg more streamlined.

Do you have any tips to share when it comes to sales?

– I would say the most important thing is to be attentive to what the person you are talking to is interested in, for our operations to work it needs to be beneficial for both us and the companies we are collaborating with. Also don’t get too stuck in a script, after all you are talking to another person and sometimes it’s better to loosen the reins a bit. Apart from that I would say stay positive and always have the next step in the sales-process in mind!

Who is your role model and why?

– I would either say my mother or my father, they are always there to help and offer great advice!

What place in the world would you most like to visit?

– Tough question, I think it would either have to be Lofoten in Norway or Patagonia in Argentina!

What do you look forward to the most next year within LundaEkonomerna?

– Everything that has to do with the union, whether that is hanging out with the board or our members, getting a chance to meet a lot of interesting companies and of course going to all of our great events!
